Join our NEW Walking Division for the Jeff Galloway Half Marathon!
Course Limit: The course will be open for 4:30 hours or until the last participant finishes. If participants are maintaining a slower than 20:36 minute-per-mile pace, they will be asked to move to the sidewalk between miles 7.25 (10:27 AM) and 8.25 (10:48 AM). After mile 8.25, participants can move back onto the road and will have a lane all the way until mile 11, when they enter Piedmont Park where there is no vehicular traffic.
How can I sign up for the Walking Division?
When you register for the half marathon, you’ll see a question asking if you’d like to participate in the walking division. If you plan to walk, please answer “yes” to this question so we can assign your corral accordingly.
Are there awards for the Walking Division?
The walking division is non-competitive, and there will be no awards. All walking division finishers will receive the half marathon finisher’s medal.
What is the time limit for the Walking Division?
Participants in the walking division will need to maintain an average 20:36 minutes per mile pace for the Half Marathon course.
I have walked the half marathon before. Why is the Walking Division being added now?
Yes, several participants have been able to walk the half marathon previously! This new division extends the course time limit to allow even more MOVERS to participate in the event.
