Jeff Galloway 13.1 Race Weekend

Every great city deserves a great park! That was the sentiment of a group of concerned citizens who came together over 20 years ago to give Atlanta the great public green space it deserved.  Since then, Piedmont Park Conservancy has successfully raised and invested more than $66 million for park beautification, maintenance, security, programs, and capital improvements including a 53-acre expansion.

Piedmont Park Conservancy has successfully transformed the once dilapidated Park into the most visited green space in Atlanta. The Conservancy manages more than 90% of the Park’s daily maintenance, care and security. Less than 10% of its support comes from the City of Atlanta and the Conservancy does not receive funding from the many festivals, film shoots and large events hosted in Piedmont Park.

Whether you run, walk, bike, skate, picnic or enjoy a festival at Piedmont Park, you are benefiting from the efforts of Piedmont Park Conservancy. This run supports Piedmont Park Conservancy, a nonprofit organization.

Piedmont Park Dog Park is a haven for dogs and humans alike! While a City of Atlanta ordinance requires all dogs in public areas to be leashed, Piedmont Dog Park is one of the few locations in metro Atlanta where dogs may run free. This special off-leash area, open since 2002, is one of the most popular features of Piedmont Park. Piedmont Dog Park features a nearly 3-acre dog run, separate enclosures for large and small dogs, new trails and landscaping and benches and restrooms for loyal owners.

The DONNA Foundation is a non-profit organization in Northeast Florida producing the only marathon in the U.S. dedicated to breast cancer research, awareness and care.  Its mission is to provide financial assistance and support to individuals living with breast cancer and fund ground breaking breast cancer research.

The DONNA Foundation provides financial assistance for the critical needs of women and men living with breast cancer. To date, The DONNA Foundation has served more than 10,000 families. The DONNA Foundation also helped to develop and maintain the Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Translational Genomics Program. Ongoing funding from the foundation make it possible for the laboratory team not only to conduct state of the art breast cancer research, including the widely publicized Triple Negative Breast Cancer Vaccine Trials, but also provide genomics support for studies in all cancers.

The Elliott Galloway Scholarship Fund  The story of The Galloway School’s birth is typical of Elliott Galloway’s ability to turn a vision into a reality. Where there was a deserted, condemned building in Northwest Atlanta, Elliott saw a school; and with the help of the new and growing community, Elliott, along with his wife Kitty and good friend Ross Arnold, founded The Galloway School in 1969.

In Elliott’s dream, The Galloway School would be a radically different place where, instead of learning facts and processes, children would learn to learn—about academics and about themselves.  More information
